Judaism, one step at a time
A free app that makes Jewish practice an easy part of every day, for Jews starting out, coming back, or joining through giyur. No Hebrew needed: just begin with two lines, and grow in practice at your own pace.
A way back that feels like yours
Madrega is made for a Jew who wants to begin and does not know where.
The app that lives in the rhythm of the Jewish day
The day opens with Modeh Ani
Two lines of thanks, said still in bed. The alarm wakes you with them, and Today shows what comes first.
Daniel
A siddur that grows with you
Each practice you begin adds its prayer to My Siddur: the Hebrew, how to read it and what it means, with Ari reading aloud word by word so you can pray along from the first evening. The full Chabad siddur, Nusach Ari, is there too, and it works without internet.
Your path stays yours
What you practice is between you and Hashem. Madrega keeps it that way.
One mitzvah leads to another
Madrega exists to help every Jew, no matter where they started, take one real step closer to Torah and mitzvot.
We are building it for a Jew who did not grow up observant, so that they can take a first step quietly, without pressure or shame: light Shabbat candles, put on tefillin, hang a mezuzah, or begin keeping Shabbat.
Frequently asked questions
Getting started
Is Madrega a free Jewish prayer app?
Yes. Madrega is free, with no subscriptions and no purchases.
I am a beginner in Judaism. Where do I start?
With the bedtime Shema: two lines and one minute in the evening. Then Modeh Ani on waking, netilat yadayim and the blessings, one practice at a time.
Is Madrega for women too?
Yes. Madrega is made for men and for women. It asks once, and your path, the prayers and your mentor follow: Modah Ani for women, tefillin on the men's path, and mentors for men and for women.
Can I pray if I do not read Hebrew?
Yes. Every prayer in the siddur comes with transliteration and a translation, and Ari reads it aloud with audio, highlighting each word as you go.
Is Madrega for baal teshuva and people going through giyur?
Yes. Madrega is made for Jews starting out, for those coming back to Torah and mitzvot (baal teshuva) and for those joining the Jewish people through giyur.
Prayer, Shabbat and the mentor
Is it a Chabad siddur?
Yes. The siddur follows Nusach Ari, as in Tehillat Hashem. The whole Chabad siddur can be downloaded and works without internet.
Does it show Shabbat candle lighting times?
Yes. The app shows candle lighting, 18 minutes before sunset, and the time Shabbat ends for your city, and walks you through each Jewish holiday step by step.
Can I ask questions about Jewish practice?
Yes. Your mentor is an AI and answers questions about prayer, Shabbat and the holidays in your language. It does not replace a rabbi.
The app and your privacy
Who can see what I do in the app?
Only you. A neutral icon and Face ID keep the app private on your phone, and your progress is stored encrypted.
Which languages does Madrega speak?
English, Russian and Spanish.
Is Madrega on Android?
Not yet. Madrega is on iPhone, and Android is planned.
